An action panel is a card on the board that carries one assigned action: what needs doing, who it is assigned to, who assigned it, and whether it is done. You read it where it sits, without opening anything.
Adding one
Add one from the Collaborate group of the palette's Behaviours category. A fresh panel has no action yet, so it shows a Set Up Action button.
Press it and the usual Assign Action dialog opens: pick who it is for, give it a name and an optional description, and choose whether to email them. Confirm, and the card shows the action.
A panel can be about an element: drop one beside it and join the two with an ordinary arrow, the same way a comment panel is attached.
Working with it
- Complete marks the action done. The card dims and shows a Done chip, but stays on the board as a record of what was agreed. Reopen brings it back.
- Edit reopens the dialog with everything filled in, so you can rename it, change the description or hand it to someone else.
- To remove the action, delete the card. To keep the card and clear its action, use Collaborate → View Action in the card's menu and delete it from there.
It is the same action as any other: it appears in the Collaborate panel and on your Activity page, and anyone who can view the diagram can read it, while only editors can change it.
Panel or action badge
You can already put an action on any element with Assign Action in its menu. That shows as a small badge that opens a popover for one reader at a time. A panel is the same action, left out on the board, so it is in the export and in everyone else's view.
